About me

Keith 'Zig' Stewart played piano since age nine. First exposure to Electronic Music came at age fifteen by building a kit synthesizer, the PAiA Gnome. Enjoying Jazz and recording music, he experienced dozens of hours of recording improvisational music. Keith produced Art for War's Sake (vinyl) in 1987 by the band, "i.e." on the now defunct label 'Quick Release'. That album featured music created with the 'SIDnth', a synthesizer Keith designed and built.

In the 1990's he produced two solo CD's featuring the music he composed originally on piano between the ages of 17 and 23. Self-Realization, presents Progressive Rock beyond the pure electronic textures of "Art for War's Sake". Meditative Motivative originated in the same era with a somewhat smoother sound.

In 1991 he formed the One Media® label producing two solo CD's, and later added Quick Release into the Artists and Repertoires of One Media®. He appears on all but one of the albums and a few of the videos featured by One Media®

Voted for my friend and collaborator Junkfeathers … Could not tell from the feedback on the UI at that moment (?)

@P.O.F. shredding! … yeah, Primus, Tool, Faith No More … I can hear it in your arrangement here, well done!

Thanks again, @Zeljko-Stanojkovski For hosting this great way of getting know and love each other’s music!

The most recent most shredding tune in what may be the space metal subgenre …

@zeljko-stanojkovski Thanks for hosting another great song contest theme!

It looks like I release about one rock tune each month, so let’s start with the newest first:

https://musicoin.org/nav/track/0xc81e9af88604279f5f789d06327f7379d0096cdf

A savage beat with fierce metallic clashing percussive electronica, rip roaring fuzz wah chorus guitar and monosynth polyphonic leads to trigger a fight or flight response, a high speed diminished scale based full frontal assault further gives rise to excitement as the diminished scale hints of the presence of danger or even evil.

Side effects may include an intense adrenaline response. Ask your doctor if your heart is healthy enough to engage the beast within.

Last Month:

https://musicoin.org/nav/track/0x65563497dae12368410adbb39b52392effff5d87

A satirical juxtaposition of psycho social themes from three different movies. Daddy issues, Mommy issues, and all sorts of other sociological and psychological pathologies satirically wrapped up in one funky spanking good time… 😉

Two Months Ago:

https://musicoin.org/nav/track/0xe0f6091a48399913578b3a022997d74e4cf9c89a

A theme alluding to crypto-mining, Trash Juice recorded this 32 bar ABAB form Funk Rock Electronica tune on February 25, 2018. This instrumental tune features a ‘power trio’ arrangement of round wound string bass, drums, and distorted/wah/flange guitar patches along with percussive and sweeping digital and analog synthesizer floating mostly low in the mix.

Thanks a lot, and enjoy listening!

@asterios-papastamatakis I have no doubt what you say is true, you pulled that tune off flawlessly, and it sounds like you get out live enough that your live thing is always that tight!

I’m just happy to get out whenever I can, though it’s been a while … I would have to say, an off night jammin’ is better than most good days…

I’m loving this week’s theme a whole lot! Jazz really does hit me where I live!

OK, if you’ll excuse me, I promise this is the last of my tracks I’d like to submit, I don’t want to overdo it! But I can’t resist submitting this one because of its solos …

This tune has mostly a downtempo electronica exotic Reggae World Bolero feel with hip Vibraphone and Tenor Sax solos …

@asterios-papastamatakis Somewhere between cooking and screaming! Well done! I bet that gig was a real peak experience for you!

Thank you, @Zeljko Stanojkovski for hosting this Song of the Week contest. As I said, Jazz is my specialty, and since the rule 1 says “…track(s)…” here’s another tune …

This is another favorite recent tune posted on musicoin, something closer to the Jazz Bossa Nova tradition, calmer and a bit slower tempo than my previous submission …
